I have been in the United States for the past 18 years of my life, and I have been working with kids for 16 years. First, I worked as a live-in child care provider. Later on, I moved to a part-time position, and eventually got a full-time job. Through these years, I have taken care of children of different ranges of ages since newborn to preteens. My family hired Lorena (Daira) as a back-up nanny for my sick 6 month old son in 12/2022. She was fantastic! In setting up the job, she was very communicative and professional. I contacted her the day we needed care due to a late cancellation, and she was able to start within a couple of hours. She very quickly picked up on my son's routine and didn't need any training on the basics. She came fully prepared and skilled in bottle-feeding, diapering, tummy time, etc. She jumped right in with a very minimal orientation to our home and baby stuff, and had my son out on a walk within a hour or so of showing up! My son was still eating and sleeping on demand to a certain extent (rather than a scheduled), and she was able to read infant sleepy/hungry cues. I couldn't have been happier working with Lorena and will certainly hire her again in the future if she's available!
