I am a 24 year graduate student at UCLA studying to become a teacher. I have 6 years of professional experience working with youth in different environments. I have worked for Newport-Mesa unified school district as a para-educator. I was a youth leader for the YMCA and for the community service department through the city of Anaheim. Experience I have done outside of work was caring for the children in my family along with the children of family friends. I also have volunteer work through the Moquete Family home. There I assisted with the daily living skills of a group of Autistic adults. I would say my love for children began when my very first nephew was born. Being the youngest in my family I had never gotten to experience youth until then. Since his birth, my life has gotten so much sweeter. He brought so much joy to our Read more life. Though raising children is a blessing, it does come with its difficulties. With that, I wanted to learn more about them, their behaviors, how they grow, how they learn, and how I can effectively raise them and prospectively my own. I have learned so much thus far and I have a lot offer. That is why I love what I do because I truly do care about the well-being of a child. Today's world is way different from what it was way back when. Both parents are now, typically, working parents. Children deserve to be well taken care of and parents deserve that peace of mind while they're at work that their children is safe. I want to provide my expertise to these families not only in the field of education but also through the child's world prior to school.
