I am comfortable with children of all ages. I have been a long-time babysitter for a family, since the birth of their now 8-year-old daughter. I also help their 12-year-old son with homework and taking him to sports practices. While in college I was a tutor at both elementary and middle schools. I understand the importance of education and extracurricular activities and the impact they play in a child 's happiness and confidence. While working with this family I assisted with not only school work, but after school art classes, sports, scouts, and our own park adventures. I would describe myself as a playful yet responsible person. I believe play time is essential. Legos and Zoobs, Barbies and dolls, Play Doh and crafts are just as important as scholastic work. I love crafting and reading. My favorite books to read out loud are "No David" and "Knuffle Bunny." While working Read more with children I try to engage them rather than plopping them down in front of the TV. I am an intermediate tree climber and have advanced Sock em Bopper skills. I believe play time creates both memories and an understanding of the world.
