I had my first babysitting job when I was 10 years old. My Parents owned a 130 unit apartment complex and I was often hired by the tenants to babysit. I was always told that I had a natural mothering quality. By the time I had my own children, raising them of course, came so naturally. I have 3 beautiful grown children, and I am a (young & active) grandmother to a wonderful 5 yr old. I also have experience caring for foster children. I spent most of my working years in the corporate world. A few years ago I found myself at a cross road of my life and decided it was time for a change. I decided to do something I really love, taking care of children. I come from a large family so I have always been surrounded with children, In fact I can't remember a time Read more when there weren't children visiting me. I have a large property with chickens, ducks and a large vegetable garden. Whenever children visit I always let them help me with feeding the chickens, gathering eggs, and harvesting from the garden. We then cook and bake from whatever we were able to harvest. I would love to share my love of urban farming and gardening with your children. Also, I participate in, raise money for, and volunteer for many charities. The Wiggle Waggle Walk Charity Event, which benefits the SPCA and Pasadena Humane Society. I also participate in the Susan G. Komen Walk for breast cancer, Avon Walk for breast cancer, Aids Walk L.A., Altrusa, and many more.

Monique has watched my one and a half year old daughter a few times and I've been very happy! (So has my daughter... she gets excited when she sees her, and when she left, my daughter didn't want her to go and said "Nooooooo" after she left.) Monique is on-time, gentle and sweet with my little girl, asks for specific directions from me to keep her "on-schedule"... and when I came home, the kitchen was nice and clean and her room was not a messy disaster!) :) I'm excited to use Monique again when I need her!

My husband and I have been very pleased with Monique's care for our 2-year old daughter, Grace Louise. I think the best test is to see how your child reacts when the babysitter walks in the door after the first babysitting session. Grace gets really excited when she sees Monique and the two of them seem to have a lot of fun together - going on walks, playing at the park, and reading books. We've had a great experience working with Monique and would highly recommend her.
