Hi, My name is Felicia or Ms. Costa, I am a certificated elementary school teacher and a Tutor. I teach, "I can, I will, I am". My goal is to ignite student's self-confidence and redefine how they think of themselves. I have tutored 3rd-6th graders for a company called Doctrina for the last 2 years in small groups after school in Hayward. I gave pre-assessments, mini-lessons, and analyzed their progress. Education I am highly qualified and am a trained teacher and tutor. I specialize in teaching students with learning difficulties. I studied communicative disorders and learning development and disabilities. I have a multiple subject teaching credential and an Educational Technology Master’s Degree from CSUEB. I attend professional development trainings every quarter to continue learning the best practices for teaching. Before that, I studied language development and cognition. Experience This is my 4th year teaching 4th grade. I am trained in Read more common core strategies in math and English language arts. I am trained in administering, and grading the new common core SBAC or CAASP Smarter Balanced tests. I am very familiar with the complexity and structure of Common Core questions. I observed students misconceptions and am experienced in training student's thought processes. My goal is to equip students with strategies that they can use to better problem solve. My aim to teach them that they can do anything if they break it up into steps. Style Children learn when they have fun. Lessons include activities or games that demonstrate their learning. I allow reflection time to make learning connections. My students always have to explain their thinking so that they have time to process what they have learned. This style is consistent with the Common Core expectations on the new SBAC tests. I teach: I can, I will, I am

Felicia just watched our two little boys and we couldn't be happier. She is incredibly sweet, creative and energetic and engaged our boys in activities they love. She even took the time to come meet us a week or so beforehand so as to familiarize herself with our sons and their routines. Our oldest son is Autistic with many other developmental delays and Felicia is very comfortable and capable with his needs as well as balancing our youngest's very energetic personality.

Felicia is not only a responsible individual, but a wonderful babysitter. Her personality lived up to her impressive application, and were very comfortable leaving our infant with her. We very much look forward to working with her in the future.

Felicia has been a nanny for us for 2 years. She takes care of my 2 boys (ages 6 and 8). She is an absolute to delight to have with the boys. She keeps them entertained with board games, Legos, and outdoor activities. She is very flexible and follows directions on how to discipline the kids as well. They have a lot of fun with her. She makes me feel less guilty about leaving the kids at home when I go to work !!!

My post is a little late due to Holidays and travel but we still wanted to recognize Felicia for the excellent care of our 2 year old. Our son didn't even care that we left the house and days later was asking when Felicia was coming back. On-time, energetic, professional and engaged with our little guy the entire time. Thank you Felicia!! -Rick

Felicia was amazing! Our regular sitter cancelled, and I had two doctor's appointment. Based on other reviews, I gave Felicia a call. She was at my door immediately, took in a huge amount of info, played games, sang songs and took care of my 1 year old and 2 year old girls all day with enthusiasm and aplomb. She helped keep the house tidy and my girls really liked her. I'd hire her again without hesitation

Felicia is such a sweetheart. I am very picky about who I trust to care for my 16 month old son, so I feel fortunate to have found someone who meets all my criteria. She is responsible and reliable, and she has such a kind, positive disposition. She has totally won over my little one. Usually he cries every time I leave the room, but when I left him with Felicia, he was so distracted from their game of peek a boo, he didn't even see me leave. She really is a natural with kids and I feel so lucky to have found her.

Felicia is wonderful with my two year old son. From the moment we met her, she new immediately how to engage him in activities. He laughs from the time she walks in the door until the time she has to leave. She is responsible, reliable and a great person. We are very lucky to have her as a babysitter for our son.
