I'm currently a Contra Costa College art student, taking general education to prepare myself to transfer to a four-year university. At school, I currently serve as the art director for the college's student-ran newspaper being able to give a voice to my fellow shy-spoken students who need a proper education. i also mentor my Advocate staff with a kind and stern attitude on how to become a better reporter. As for my qualifications and experience, I served as a teacher assistant under my high school's ROP program for two years. Three times per week, I would assist a 4th/5th grade teacher at a neighbor elementary school in executing lessons and tutor students in math. In my youth group for church, I help babysit children while other members would be able to hold meetings, assist in preparing meals and clean up after serving the food. As a cashier at Tokyo Fish Read more Market, I became familiar with regular customers including families with young children. There, I would grow my relationship with them and treat them to the best of my ability because they are people of my community. People need to be treated with respect to promote a safer environment for the children to grow in. It is a rewarding experience for a child learning new hobbies and understand concepts that seemed previously difficult. I hope to be given the opportunity to grow as a nurturing individual with you and your children.
