I am bummed to have to write this, but I want to be sure no other parents end up in the awful situation we ended up in with Carmen. We interviewed Carmen, first on the phone and later in person. Throughout that process she was very nice, professional, had great experience and responsive. We gave her an offer over the phone and she accepted on the spot with a start date 3 weeks later. Over the next week, she was in contact with us over text and decided to confirm a training day about 2 weeks later. On the day before training (and 1 week before the full time gig began), she sent us a brief text "I have received another offer and will be taking that. Good luck finding the perfect fit" - totally leaving us in a bind. Obviously I wouldn't want someone that inconsiderate and unreliable talking care of my kids long term, so it was for the best. Hopefully this will warn and help other parents. Don't be fooled by her during the interview process. Also, her references were OK but I will also be warning (all) of them. One did say, that if you want someone that shows up on-time she may not be the greatest fit.

For the last six months, Carmen has taken incredible care of our infant, Luna. As first time parents we were so apprehensive to leave our teeny tiny three month old with a stranger, but once we met Carmen our fears began to melt away. As parents, interacting with Carmen at the beginning and end of every day has been pleasant and easy. Every instruction or thought we have about the stage Luna is in has always been addressed, and she has continuously helped us with her own experiences. Because of Carmen, Luna is sleep trained, eating with a spoon, happy, and active. I feel like we are better and more knowledgeable parents through working with this exceptional woman.

I hired Carmen off this site to be a night nanny for my son when he was around 5 months or so. I was reticent to hire someone I didnt know but I tried it, and thankfully hit the jackpot with Carmen. My son can be a bit standoffish and he loved her right away. She was always on time and ready to work, never said no to anything I asked her to do and was reliable and informed. She even gave ME advice when I asked for it as she has been around more babies than i had. She cleaned bottles, threw garbage out, read him stories , let him cuddle with her, gave him baths, and fed him amongst other things, This was a tough tough job as my son would wake up between 2-4 times a night. Every night. She slept in his room and took care of him, through his acid reflux, his sleep issues ...she was one of the only people i could trust and that allowed me to finally get some sleep myself. Happily my son is finally sleeping the night but sadly that means she is no longer here every week.
