Hello! My name is Shanon, and I would love to be a babysitter for your child/children. I have a Bachelor's degree, a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies in Occupational Therapy from the University of Hawaii. I attend graduate school at Stanbridge College in Irvine where I am studying to become an occupational therapist specializing in pediatrics. I have years of experience working as a babysitter. I babysat children from their infant stages until their early teenage years. I currently work as a babysitter for Mollycoddlers, in addition to here on Sittercity.com and Care.com. I also have experience volunteering with organizations as the Queen's Medical Center (a hospital in Hawaii), and in after school care programs for elementary school and junior high students. I have a strong work ethic, I love working with children, I am very energetic, and I am definitely very patient. I have a lot of experience in volunteering Read more with people of all ages, from children in hospitals, to helping in occupational therapy treatments as well as providing respite care for geriatric patients in hospice. I have been a volunteer for Hospice Hawaii, where I was trusted to watch over/babysit hospice patients for a few hours a week while their family members/caregivers were able to run errands outside of the home, for about four years. I was CPR and first aid certified in the past because I was certified for my volunteer positions in Hawaii. Right now they are out of date but I will be getting them updated soon because it is a requirement for my fieldwork clinical rotations in occupational therapy school. I am getting my vaccinations updated as well- recently got my MMR and varicella vaccinations. I make sure to always follow parents instructions and follow through with children's bedtimes, preparing meals/snacks if requested, and helping kids with homework. I definitely enjoy babysitting because I enjoy interacting with, talking to, and playing with children. I understand that giving someone the responsibility to care for the most precious thing in life- your child/children, is a decision that requires much care and consideration.
