Anna is incompetent and unwilling to conform to the wishes of parents. She claims to have a knowledge (Psychology student) but she is for sure not willing to explore any ideas of parenting except command and control (punishment and timeout !!) that was not our parenting style at all since we do gentle parenting. We hired Anna end of november , for three days a week (Mon, Wen, Fri) while I was home. I have two kids (3.5 and almost 2.5 yrs old). Anna was with our family for month and a half. Her responsibilities were only playing with, talking to kids and having fun with them. I was responsible for cooking the meals and most of the potty time and etc. From almost 19 days that she supposed to work for us, she only came to our home 11 days total , she was sick three days, family matter a week long, and other days was on a ski trip. She quit her job one hour before coming to our home over text message telling me she can not conform to my requests to "deal with kids as a kid not grown ups". I requested that never push kids around and if you see any bad behavior, at the heat of the moment don't shut one of them down or don't take side (because it will backfire later!), just distract them with something else. When everyone calms down, explain to them, that was not a good things to do. explain to them if you are angry you have to do this and that....etc. Anna never understood and/or never changed her approach. She always insisted that kids have to clean up their play area before starting the next game or she (Anna) is going to sit around and do nothing. My kids are young (3.5, and almost 2.5), I told her that clean up is her responsibility and I requested that for that matter "please ask kids to help out and encourage them to help if they don't , just move on don't push them". My kids help out 3 out of 5 times if you ask them. But Anna never changed her approach ever. Her knowledge of toddler care and baby care is non-existent . I am glad she left.
