Hello, I am 51 years old and have been babysitting since the age of 12, so I guess that means I have 39 years' experience -- wow! In the past 13 years, being an aunt many times over, I have babysat children from just after birth until middle school age. I absolutely love children, and am a very interactive babysitter (reading to the children, playing with dolls and/or plastic soldiers, building forts, doing puzzles/crafts, helping with homework, helping with piano lessons, baking cookies, etc., etc.) I have a very calm and gentle personality, but am also a lot of fun and enjoy bringing laughter into the lives of those I'm with. I do light cooking and prepare meals when needed, and will do some light housekeeping, Several years ago, I had worked part-time and on-call for an attorney's family, babysitting two adorable little girls ages 5 and 7. I have not done any babysitting since 2010 or so, but am looking to occasionally babysit because I love to be in the company of children and have so much fun doing this. The kinds of jobs that interest me most are occasional babysitting in the late afternoons (possibly earlier) to evenings, such as date nights, special occasions, that sort of thing. I hired Laura to work for me on a perminant basis. On her start date for training, she called me a 1/2 hr. before she was to arrive to notify me that she was sick & couldn't make it. Throughout the week, she assured me that she'd be better in time for her start date which was 3 day later. Again, 1/2 hr. prior to the time she was to arrive she called me to say that she couldn't make it because she was still too ill. Then, she e-mailed me 2 days later notifying me that she had an "emergency" & had to leave town for 3 weeks leaving me high & dry without a sitter after I'd had a month's notice from my previous sitter. She wouldn't even return my call to discuss the situation as I was hoping for a valid reason to give her a chance. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER!! She portrays herself as a thoughtful, kid person but obviously is not.

Laura was great. She very kindly came to watch the kids at the last minute, and was incredibly nice about it. She took wonderful care of them, and we would definitely call her again!

Laura is an excellent childcare provider. Laura is a very good communicator either by phone or e-mail and she responds in a timely manner to request. Upon meeting Laura the evening of the assignment my 2 yr old daughter was very at ease with her. Laura followed our directions regarding our children’s meals and bedtime.
