I have always been very comfortable with children. The general age range I have babysat with is between 1 and 11 years old. I prefer to keep them active whether it's with games with their siblings or time in the park or back yard. As far as discipline goes as long as no one gets physically hurt I believe that a short chat about why what they did was wrong and then quickly go back to the activity at the time is the best way to maintain an encouraging air and yet still address the problem. I've been fortunate in my expereience with children and adults with special needs. As a camp counselor while my duties included all care taking needs we also were depended on to provide a fun filled atmosphere. Most of the campers I had waited all year to come to camp because it was the only Read more place they could be themselves and have a truly fun time. I hope to provide that for everyone I care for.
