I graduated from Boston College with a degree in English and Communications in May of 2013. I was born and raised in New York and I come from a very large family, my father had 15 siblings and my mother had 3, so I have a lot of experience with children from spending time with my family alone. I have been babysitting for over 13 years now. I have been living in LA for a little over a year now, working freelance in production and babysitting part-time whenever I am free to do so. I have experience working as a swim instructor at a day camp, teaching both private and group lessons for children ages 3-12. I will never forget one of my private lessons with a 4 year old girl named Tori, who was petrified of the water and refused to get her ears wet during our first lesson. Read more By the end of the summer, her parents barely recognized their daughter. I had her diving for rings on the pool floor. It was really amazing to see this young girl conquer her fears. I have 10 years of experience volunteering at various after school programs as a tutor, helping students with their homework and acting as their mentor. I love talking to children and learning their dreams and interests and then finding creative ways to cultivate them. I am a very creative and crafty person and I love to bake. I'm an expert gingerbread house decorator and I know how to make my own play-doe. I also have experience with potty-training. Ideally I would be looking for someone who needs an occasional sitter, as I cannot guarantee my availability week to week.
