I moved out to LA from Virginia in February after graduating a semester early from college in December. It has been a crazy few months but I am so happy to be here and am really loving it. After graduating I realized there were a lot of things I wanted to pursue and I needed to narrow it down and find some focus, and LA felt right. Child Care, was my first job and probably longest lasting so far. I started working in the child care field when I was fifteen providing whatever help and assistance the women who ran a neighborhood daycare needed, wether it was snacks, crafts, supervising activities, or making sure the kids had a safe, fun time in the pool. Later I moved into nannying and found myself in charge of the care of a family that initially started off with 3 boys, and within the Read more 3 years I knew them before going to college, became 4 boys and 1 girl. As much as those siblings could rile each other up, I always had a good time, they kept me on my toes. I definitely enjoy being on my toes, but luckily, I had a nice balance with a family in my neighborhood who had just one sweet girl. I was her first non-familial babysitter, when she was just an infant and now she's 8. I don't babysit her now, we just have 'girl time,' it's awesome. Living in a suburb of Virginia I had the pleasure of dropping in and babysitting for various other families from time-to-time, wether it was another neighbor or coach or parent's co-worker. It's a job parents are so appreciative to have somebody they trust to ask, and I have no problem being that person, it's a really important job. Other past experience that has really shaped me into someone so capable of caring for and being around kids would be volunteering in my church nursery and also, my job as a lifeguard at a community pool just last summer. I am well-versed in CPR, first-aid, and water safety from my training. I'm also a very cool headed individual, under pressure I don't freak out, I've always found calmly deducing the best route out of a tricky situation to be more effective. I'm so excited to be out here and am feeling so good in the choice I made to come! I am really looking forward to what's to come and would love to be working with kids and families again because it has always been such a great and positive influence on my life. And I know I can be a positive influence, in return! (my references still live on the east coast, please be mindful of east coast time when calling!)
