am a young woman in her 30's and a native of Los Angeles who hopes to begin pursuing her masters in education this January. In pursuit of that goal, I have been volunteer tutoring with the Boys and Girls Club of Mar Vista Gardens, School on Wheels, and the homework lab at John Muir Elementary in Glendale. My students have ranged from 6-11 years in age. I currently babysit for a 5-year-old who I often drop at school and/ or bathe and put to bet depending on what his mom needs through the course of her divorce. While this describes my most recent experience, I have been caring for children off and on for the past 17 years, ever since joining the Barnard babysitting agency in college. I've typically worked for families with children ranging in ages from 4-14, and I've certainly enjoyed all of it. I am highly reliable, Read more and I can easily relate to children and inspire their best behavior. I am also particularly interested in working in a day-care type setting to begin getting a feel for working with many children at once in anticipation of my future as an educator.
