My name is Cecelia; I am a 60-something single energetic artist (non-smoker, non-drinker) who loves kids. I supplement my painting income with babysitting. I am available short term and occasional full time days and overnights. I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri in the 1950’s, the fourth child in a family of six. I cared for my younger siblings, and started babysitting outside of home at the age of twelve. I have thirteen nieces and nephews as well as eight great-nieces and nephews with two more on the way. I am happy and confident with newborns through teenagers. Controlled chaos is not foreign to me, though I am in charge. I have stayed once a week with my goddaughter's 2 1/2 year old twins since the day they were born as well as cared for them for three days when their mom gave birth to their brother. I have accompanied Read more the family twice on business trips to San Diego to help with the kids, going to the beach, the Scripps Aquarium and the Children’s Discovery Museum. I also sit on a regular basis for an 8 year old and her 15 month old brother. For me playing, and creativity and fun are extremely important. I try to establish an emotional bond – through our activities especially reading, going to the park, swimming, making up stories, and playing all of the parts. I have taught art K-12, but for most years I taught at the University level. My years as a teacher have taught me how to work with all ages engaging them and inviting them to use their innate imagination and creativity. I interact with kids of whatever age and help them reflect their imagination and enhance their connection to nature, people and the world around them. All pets are fine with me. I was a certified lifeguard and swimming instructor. You can call me and we can chat some more. I wish you the best in your search.
