Hello! My name is Hannah and I am 23 years old. I am a transplant to Los Angeles from the Midwest, currently living downtown. I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in May of 2015 with a BA in Film, Television and Theater. I also minored in Education and Art. I was a full- time student athlete on the Varsity swim team. During my time at Notre Dame I volunteered at a local community center teaching Shakespeare to pre- teens and tutored in the South Bend local schools to elementary children. I also helped run swim clinics and camps for local children in the summers. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2016, I have been working at the West Hollywood Park Pool where I received my CPR, First Aid and Water Safety Instructor certifications. I teach swim lessons to ages 3 and above in groups and in private sessions. Read more I am also a lifeguard and a swim coach. My swim team is comprised of children ages 6-15. In the summer I also co -ran a day camp of 50 children for 2 weeks, comprised of in and out of water activities. Given my background in athletics, art and education, I love spending time with children and guiding them through the process of discovering their talents and interests. My mother was a teacher for 30 years and I was fortunate enough to have her as my guide in and out of the classroom. After I no longer had her as a teacher in the classroom, I loved visiting her class and learning from the way she interacted with her students. I was also lucky enough to get to work with some of her students one - on- one that were struggling with reading. I have a passion for entertaining others, especially making people laugh. My strict routine in college, along with the accountability that went with being a great teammate, taught me how to be dependable and a great leader. I believe that children should always be encouraged to achieve greatness, yet not coddled when things don't turn out their way. I always try to find the learning moment in all of life's challenges. I understand that many times when I am trying to teach children, I am learning from them at the same time. I joyously look forward to working with you and your family!
