I am a warm, fun, compassionate, responsible and energetic person at heart. As the oldest of 5 I have gained a unique perspective on different personalities and learning styles, wholly understanding the importance of leading by example. Aside from child care, I studied Painting and Art History at Howard University and continue to do freelance work while participating in art shows occasionally. As a multifaceted individual, I take the time to utilize many forms of art including culinary arts, gardening, photography, and poetry. In regards to my career in child care , have had nothing but wonderful experiences working full time with children. Of course not every day will be perfect, but being able to help nurture a child through their development and give a family the extra help they need is such a rewarding experience. I have worked with kids as young as 1 year old(until she was 3) Read more and as old as 14. I also have experience and training working with children/persons on the autism spectrum. In the past, I have been able to efficiently navigate multiple schedules between parents and siblings while giving each child the special attention and encouragement they need. I believe in building respect driven relationships with children wile allowing their curiosity to flourish in a safe and appropriate manner. In addition to a strong child/caregiver relationship, I hold high the importance of communication and respect between parents/guardians and I.
