I'm nineteen years old and I've been babysitting kids from ages, 1-5 since I was about fourteen years old. Recently, I've been assigned the task of escorting an eleven and twelve year old to their baseball practices and games, among the various team parties they also have, so I'm gaining more experience with older kids/teens as well. My last babysitting task was for a family of four boys, including a young toddler that's around a year and seven months old, a five year old, an eight year old and a twelve year old. The children's parents had a wedding to attend on that weekend, so I assisted them by staying over with the kids until they came back. All of the duties that came with that included diaper changing, feeding all the kids; breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, keeping them all entertained, and mediation between the five and eight year Read more old, because kids will be kids, but that can only be allowed to a point, and putting the baby to sleep. It may sound complicated to handle that many kids at once, but if you actually listen to them and don't just brush them off, you'll see that they're easier to maintain because they feel like they're a part of things. It's important to be an adult figure for them, no doubt about that, but in my opinion it does no harm to humor the kids every once in awhile. All of the kids I've looked after have liked me, which won me the title, "The cool babysitter." I always try to continue to meet their expectations and I hope I can meet yours too!
