A quote from Albert Einstein says, "The only source of knowledge is experience." Currently, I am a student at Pepperdine University as an Education major. Throughout the years, I have had a passion for working with children. When working in the child care field, I do not believe in just simply watching a child. I believe in serving as an educator for the child. I believe a proper education is developed through time and experience. It is the teachers' and educators' jobs to expose the children to various opportunities. In addition, what is done at home plays a role in a child's education. So in my opinion when hiring a babysitter or nanny, it is important to search for someone who puts their education first and allows them to grow. I do just that. A child's education begins at birth. From day one until death, a person is constantly learning. Read more It is through maturation and experience that a person receives the proper knowledge. A theorist who supports the idea of experiences playing a role in education is John Dewey. One quote from Dewey that stands out tremendously is, "Education is life itself." Education is learning by doing. This experience for your family and your selected child caregiver can shape your child's future. Your child's growth and development is important to me. I believe that not only will your family benefit if you choose to hire me, but I will benefit as well. I am continuously learning how to become better. I have been working with children since the age 14, when I took a position as a camp counselor. For years, my Early Childhood classes did internships with many schools. While working with the children, I began to just adore every student. The best feeling in the world was when one of the children told me that I was her favorite teacher. Then, I realized that teaching was my "calling." I have had the opportunity to work with children from ages zero to eight years old. I have been an assistant teacher in an infant classroom and toddler classroom. Also, I have student taught in a various elementary grades.
