While in college, I signed up with Partner’s in Education to volunteer as an afterschool science teacher, and was assigned to an elementary school with limited funds and volunteers. All my students were girls, so I was given the unique opportunity, as a woman, to inspire young girls to pursue science. I encouraged them to speak their minds and ask questions as we covered topics such as botany, marine biology, the deep sea, and the water cycle. As a dancing, singing, and acting teacher for a theatre camp in Morgan Hill, I became well experienced in keeping the attention and respect of large groups of children without ever neglecting the needs of an individual child. Children love spending time with me because of my big imagination which makes play time always a blast, and my ability to encourage growth and self-fulfillment by helping them develop their unique skills and talents. Read more As a science teacher at Mission Springs Outdoor Education in Scott's Valley, I utilized science and hands-on learning activities to foster positive student relationships and good stewardship of the environment. I just moved to Marina del Rey and am excited to meet you and your child.
