Hi, my name is Amber. I am a 2019 graduate of The Evergreen State College with a BA/BS in marine biology and environmental chemistry. I grew up in San Francisco, playing soccer, basketball, tennis and karate, and love to share these passions with the kids that I babysit. I have been working with kids since I was in 8th grade, when I first started teaching kids karate. I also have 2 years of experience as a referee for kids ranging from 8-10. As a senior in high school, I got the opportunity to teach Physical Education for girls in grades K-4 for a month at a prestigious private school in San Francisco. During my time there, I created a new approach to teaching girls how to throw without teaching the stereotype of "throwing like a girl." In addition, I have served 7 different families with kids ranging from 1-10. Additionally, Read more during my time in college I have spent two full summers, one half summer, and two summers only working a couple of weeks at Walton's Grizzly Lodge Summer Camp, which is a co-ed sleepaway camp for kids ages 6-14. During my time working there, I was responsible for the care of 8 campers in a cabin 24 hours a day ranging from 1-2 weeks. I led activities ranging from high ropes courses to making bracelets to teaching kids how to waterski and getting them out of the water as their boat driver (I was lifeguard certified for 2 years). From working multiple summers at a sleep-away camp to helping parents at kid's birthday parties, I enjoy spending time with kids!
