Hi! I'm Meaghan McCarthy and I have been babysitting since I was 13. I've always been a nurturing person who is capable to seeing to the needs of others in addition to my own. I am a goal oriented person with passion and ambition, which helps to me being a good role-model for children. I actually have my Masters degree in Sport Psychology and I am trying to build my own private practice. Unfortunately such an ambition doesn't pay the bills immediately, so I use childcare as a means to supplement my income. In my sport psychology experience I have worked with nearly 150 youth athletes, helping them to be more confident, focused, positive, goal-achievers. I'm very supportive and I know how to listen and understand each individual's needs. I look to bring those same qualities when I care for children. In addition to being a super supportive, compassionate, educated Read more person, I am highly creative. I can't tell you the number of games or activities I have created in the moment to engage, entertain, and educate children. I do all sorts of arts and crafts that I am able to adapt to a child's stage of development. I also love to run and play outside, go on walks, and other adventures. I love laughter and aim to keep children as happy as possible. Safety though is my biggest priority and I would rather a child be upset at me than allow them to do something that has the potential for danger. I am first aid and CPR certified and am happy to have not needed to use anything more than the occasional neosporin and band-aid. I believe on being on the same page of parents because consistency is so important for children. I communicate openly with parents and will ask questions regarding how they would like something handled. Above all else, I am patient. From meltdowns to tantrums to telling a child 8 times to pick up their toys, it is all a part of development. Meaghan is a true gem! We used her while our full-time nanny was away, and we couldn't have been happier with her. She was very active and creative with our 2-year-old, and was very helpful in progressing his potty training. Friendly, always on time, flexible with her hours, helpful around the house, and well-versed in education and disciple appropriate for our son's age. She taught me quite a bit, and our son still asks about her!
