Hi, my name is Sara and I've lived in LA for just about five years! I grew up in Chicago, and have been a babysitter, nanny, caregiver, after school tutor, camp counselor, and site director for summer camps. I have a great deal of experience with children of all ages including newborns. I began babysitting when I was 12-years-old, caring for a family with a 3-year-old child. Some of the basic duties I’ve taken on have included transporting children to and from school as well as other appointments, preparation of meals, activity planning, and creating a fun environment. Furthermore, I have the patience, understanding, and energy necessary to engage children and have a proven ability to foresee and prevent problems and handle difficult situations. As a camp counselor for a number of years, it was my responsibility to create a stimulating environment for children (4-6 yrs) and lead participation in Read more activities. I encouraged creativity and imagination through coordinating activities focused on music, sports, drama, art, and dance. After I was promoted to site director for summer camp, my responsibility greatly increased and it was the most rewarding experience. I was responsible for the operation of the camp site, supervised all staff and 60 children, led daily activities, and managed constant communications between parents, children, the local park district, and contacts for planned field trips and regular swim lessons. In a nutshell, it was my duty to ensure that everyone had a productive, safe, and friendly environment, while working with parents to address concerns and special needs of their children.
