I am a caregiver and educator with over 10 years of experience. I just moved to the Bay Area and am excited to play, laugh, read, learn, create, and explore with some of my younger new neighbors! I have been caring for children since I took my first Red Cross babysitting training course at the age of 13, when I was arguably still somewhat of a child myself! I've cared for children of all ages, from toddlers to preteens, and am comfortable caring for all kinds of kids from all kinds of families. Throughout my time in high school and college, I developed sustained relationships with families who required my services, some of whom I would provide for every once in a while on an as-needed basis, and some with whom I set up a more consistent schedule. I also have a diverse set of experiences working with children in Read more educational settings. I've worked with children as young as 4 and as old as 15 as a teacher's assistant, a tutor, an outdoor educator in community gardens, and most recently, as an English teacher in Istanbul, Turkey. My experience working with young people has always been enriched by my love of children's literature. I fed this passion of mine during my 5 years working at an independent children's bookstore in my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, where I spent a lot of time with young readers and their families and developed an expansive knowledge of children's literature.
