I am 31 years old and have a Master's in Social Work, specializing in child welfare. I have been nannying full-time for the past 4 years and have been working professionally with children for the last 10 years. My work experience includes nannying, a family center (ages 6 mo - 5 yrs), after-school care, and child protective services. I'm interested in adding 5-10 hours to my week, working around my 2 long term families. The best parts of working with children are sharing my love of books with them, being silly, and exploring whatever nature we can find (even if it's just the backyard). Vanessa has been a wonderful nanny to our rambunctious 2 1/4 year old. She's energetic and conscientious. Toys are always put away and the kitchen is clean when I get home. Our daughter has also become much better about picking up after herself which I attribute to Vanessa influence. Our daughter is starting pre-school but she will miss "Nessa" and when Vanessa isn't around she still gets mentioned frequently. "This one is for Nessa." or "Daddy likes ice cream, mommy likes ice cream, Nessa likes ice cream." We'll undoubtedly hire Vanessa again when our schedules collide.
