Ever since I was young, I have always had an interest in care taking. This interest has even led me to my path in becoming a Pre-Nursing major, to one day become a Pediatric Nurse. In all my 4 years of high school, I was in the Leadership program, allowing me to be more involved in the school by putting on events, planning spirit days, creating activities and decorations, and more. I was also involved in courses that were dedicated to care-taking of children, like Child Development. In this course, I learned how the child develops throughout their life, and how each stage is different and requires different care. My senior year of high school, I took a course called ROP Careers with Children, where I became a teacher and taught children from preschool to fifth grade. In this course, I would have to create lessons for the children, teach Read more the children new things, make sure the children paid attention to myself as well as the actual teacher, and watch the children whenever it was needed. This course allowed me to not only help these young kids, but also allowed me to learn quite a few things myself. Since these experiences, I have become CPR Certified and gained a broader understanding for caretaking. Over the summer, I tagged along with my companions on some occasions when they would babysit or dogsit. I have never babysat/ dogsat on my own yet, but with all of my past experiences and future goal to one day become a Pediatric Nurse, I believe that I would be a wonderful caretaker! I will never forget the classes full of children that I had to teach when I was in the ROP Careers with Children course, as each and every one of them touched my heart, and I still miss them to this day! It would be an honor to get back into the field and take care/ teach more wonderful individuals! 😊
