Hanging out with kids is a lot of fun for me, so babysitting comes second nature. I've been looking after children since I was 14 years old, starting with my two younger brothers. Of course I was recruited to watch my cousins after that, and then the neighborhood children and eventually started working at a YMCA daycare/kindergarten. There I worked with children of all mages ranging from infancy to 13 years old. We would play, have snack, do homework, and even tutoring for some kids. I've learned a lot over the years I've had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful children. Patience and understanding are two of the most valuable things that working with children has taught me. I feel like whenever I spend time with children they teach me so much and seeing the world through their eyes is a truly amazing thing. It is humbling to Read more know that you are playing a role in someone's life during a very impressionable time and everything you say and do may stick with them for the rest of their lives. I know I have had teachers and babysitters that have taught me lessons I still apply to my life, some without even realizing it.
