Hello everyone! I just arrived to the Bay Area (specifically Oakland/Rockridge area) from Brooklyn, NY after doing an incredible cross-country road trip with all of my belongings stuffed into my Subaru Forester; focusing on National Parks and cities known for their food and music culture. After this 6-week adventure on the road, I couldn't be more excited to start my new life on the West Coast! For the past two years I have been teaching 3 and 4-year-olds at an incredible, magical, intentional, enriching, holistic private pre-school in Brooklyn, NY called Studio Creative Play. Not only did I focus on curriculum, but I also taught Spanish and led Music and Art projects every day. As a teacher I focus on each child as an individual, celebrating their unique light and honoring their individual needs. I teach to the whole body, encouraging the children to use all their senses as I Read more guide them in the exploration of the world around us. I play ukulele, guitar and I sing with the kids on a daily basis. During my time at Studio Creative Play, I wrote multiple children songs that encouraged movement, dance, and addressed topics of curriculum. Before that, I substitute taught grades K-12 in the Anchorage School District during the school year. Throughout (and starting way before) all of my teaching experiences, I have been providing childcare for families with children of ages newborn through 10 years old, accumulating to now 12-plus years of experience. Currently looking to provide childcare for a family with young children, Monday-Friday, 3pm-6/7pm. Whether I am teaching or providing childcare, my values and intentions remain a constant. Above all, safety and joy come first. Starting in September, I'll be teaching preschool at Step One in Berkeley. At that point I will be available T, Th, F from 3pm-7pm! I graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Bilingual Education and International Studies. My plan is to pursue a Master's Degree once I am settled into my new life here on the West Coast. I am so excited for this new adventure to begin and to create an intentional, creative, imaginative, enriching, loving community of families and young learners!
