Hi! I was a nanny for most of my adult life, and when I had non-nanny jobs (including afterschool teaching and preschool substitute, among other things), I still always tacked some babysitting onto the side for fun + extra income- up until the pandemic! I love hanging out with babies and kids- playing, taking walks, reading books, doing art projects and just generally having a good time together! I like to be engaged with the children I care for and build a nice connection with them, but I also value letting them have their play-alone (or play-together!) time when they need it. I'm gently firm when needed, and always safety aware, but take an overall laid back approach to childcare. I'm also very handy as a household helper, and have lots of experience with kid-related cleaning, and meal prep etc. I'm currently in hybrid school part-time, and will switch to asynchronous Read more online school to complete my BA degree in Human Development full time in January, so I'm looking for something that fits around my current schedule and can potentially commit though to the summer to start. I am not usually available on Saturdays, but am otherwise pretty flexible. I don't have a car, so I'm looking for gigs that are fairly easy to get to via public transit + walking (I have some access to a ride, but for example, gigs way up in the hills won't work). In terms of any daytime gigs with the kids I'm happy to go on walks to do things, I'm also very experienced and comfortable with taking them places on the bus, or in a lyft/uber (parents provide payment and appropriate safe seating) References available upon request :) I am fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (initial 2 doses + 2 more boosters, including the bivalent) and have a current flu shot.
