I just recently was hired as a substitute for the Merryhill School organization. But I have worked professionally as a nanny for a family of 3 children, a nanny for newborn/preemie triplets, a preschool teacher, infant care teacher, after school/summer program teacher for school-agers, teacher guide for foreign exchange teenagers, residential counselor for neglected and abused children, etc. I am very comfortable working with children of ALL ages (birth to teenagers). I enjoy dancing, photography, taekwondo, iceskating, art, crafts, theater, gardening, cooking, volunteering (Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent de Paul, Placer SPCA, Rudolf Steiner garden), and spending time with my 13 nieces and nephews. And I enjoy sharing these diverse experiences and interests with the children under my care as well as take part in their individual interests. I have no children of my own but I do own a 15 year old cat named Bianca. I speak and understand a little Brazilian Portuguese Read more that I learned from my two Habitat for Humanity Global Village trips to Brazil and I also know a little ASL from some college courses I took. As far as my caregiving philosophy goes, I practice the ideas behind Jane Nelson's Positive Discipline techniques. I believe that there are opportunities for learning and growth in everyday experiences. And that life can be an exciting adventure. I follow through and am consistant in my work with children. I know how to find the balance between flexibility and setting clear limits and boundaries. In general, I always strive to create a nurturing, safe, enriching environment for the children under my care.

We hired Kristina to watch our 4 month old daughter and 3 year old son. It was our first time trusting our children with someone other than friends or family. Our nerves were quickly calmed when we met Kristina. She is very trustworthy and reliable. She is great with communication. My kids like her and we will definitely call on her again in the future.

Kristine helps watch my 4 and 1.5 year old sons. They love having her come to play and often will ask me if Ms. Kristine is coming to play. She is very flexible with her work hours and is a great communicator when it comes to scheduling. Kristine has helped to make my life just a little bit easier!
