The short and sweet of it. I am mom to 2 amazing grown young men ages 24 and 28. I also have an almost 5 yr old grandson that I cared for while his parents worked for the first 18 months of his sweet life (while I was working full time night weekeds). I have worked in medicine for over 31 years as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. I cared for mostly children and have worked at several Children's Hospitals in their Neonatal ICU or Pediatric ICU. When I was fresh out of High School I was a Dental Asst, then an EMT. So I pretty much have the safety of your child covered. I have been trained in all advance CPR's and First Aide's as well as caring for my own child with Spina Bifida (he had 17 major surgeries). I would be more than happy and comfortable caring Read more for any special needs children if needed. I love being an educator and a care-giver. To quote Robin Williams as Mrs. Doubtfire, "I specialize in the education and entertainment of children. I'm a hip old granny who could hip-hop, bebop, dance till ya drop, and yo, yo, make a wicked cup of cocoa." I would love the opportunity to be a part of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of your child/children.

We were staying in Carmel Valley for a wedding this past weekend and were lucky enough to have Dawn come and babysit our girls (newly 3 and 17 mos.) during the events. She has a wealth of medical training and is a warm, patient, caring soul. She genuinely loves children and even put my often clingy 17 month-old at ease. Because we were in from Texas, our children were completely off their schedules and without their own toys and comforts. Dawn handled their antics like a pro, and brought some exciting new toys that had them instantly entertained. She also made them a wonderful meal she brought along so we wouldn't have to figure out their dinner in our room service-free lodge. She kept a detailed record of how they ate, behaved and when they went down. I was a little uneasy leaving two such little girls in a strange place with someone we had just met, but Dawn put us right at ease. She has a gift with children and our daughter keeps asking when she will see "Miss Dawn" again (sadly I don't have a good answer for her!). I can't recommend her highly enough!
