I have recently quit my job in the Tech Industry (previously worked at Yahoo! Inc as Creative Production Manager) to pursue my passion in Child Development and Care. Prior to becoming a "techie", while completing my Bachelors of Art in University of California San Diego, I have had experiences working with children, and also received education on Early Child Development as elective classes. In 2008, I taught the after school program at the Daly City Jefferson Elementary School for first graders to 3rd graders. Where I helped children to complete their homework of the day; subjects include Math and English, also helped ESL children and provided one-on-one tutor session with my fluency in Mandarin as my background. I am good at using creative and enjoyable approach to develop the knowledge of students. As well as focusing on demonstrating and taught proper manners of saying “Thank You”, “Please” and proper greeting. Read more Within the same year, I went to Grattan Elementary School in San Francisco to continue my after school program teaching for Kindergarten children. Where I maintained complete responsibility for the organization, teaching, and projects of a self-contained Kindergarten classroom. Also designed and developed different activities for every class; singing, reading, drawing, arts and crafts. In addition, I maintained daily classroom after school program schedule, which includes learning colors, numbers, alphabets and shapes. I was born in China and came to the states at the age of 11, which is why I am fluent in Mandarin, Chinese speaking. I would love to teach children simple Chinese phrases and even numbers - its a great introduction of learning another language at such a young age. I am also Pediatric CPR and First Aid certified. Thanks!
