Hello! I have been babysitting children from the ages of 4-12 for 10 years. My interest in education started in high school when I worked at a day care center, and has only increased over the years. I have now graduated with a BA from UCSD and will be returning to school for my teaching credentials next year. I spent two years working in the San Diego Zoo's Education Department as a program aide, teaching art at Zoo Camp (grades 4 and up). I worked alongside credentialed and amazing educators doing a variety of programs, from assemblies to full week science curriculums for "School in the Park." I have undergone training for working with children with special needs and have experience babysitting children with language/communication struggles, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays. I am comfortable with children of all ages, and am capable of anything from changing diapers to helping with Read more algebra homework. I currently work for the Charter School of San Diego as a classroom assistant. I grade work and tutor for grades 7-12 in independent study of every subject and elective, so homework will be a breeze. I have two younger brothers that are close in age (while much younger than me), so sibling rivalries are familiar territory, and I have successfully handled sitting 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 3 cats in one go! I can handle rowdy environments easily, but am also prepared for calmer classroom-like settings. I enjoy learning as much as I can from every experience so I prefer to engage your children with activities other than TV. I am bilingual (English/Spanish) and very craft-savvy and love to bring supplies along to introduce new materials and outlets for expression!
