My name is Lizbeth and I have worked not only as a Preschool Teacher, but as a Special Ed Assistant as well for the San Diego City School District. In 2005 I started working as a Teachers Assistant in a Montessori school for about a year, after that I moved on to work for the District as a Special Ed Assistant for High School students in the mornings and in the afternoons I would sub as a Teachers Assistant for preschool within the District. After two years of working as a Special Ed Assistant I moved on to work full time as a Preschool Teacher for the District in 2008. The ages I worked with ranged from 2yrs to 5yrs of age. After all the teacher layoffs in the summer of 2012 within the District, I found myself applying for the Navy's Child and Youth Program. I got hired in Read more early 2013 to work at NAB CDC. I worked with children from 6 weeks all the way to 5yrs of age. After 6 months I was placed in a Preschool classroom where my children ranged from 3 to 5years of age. In 2014 I got promoted to become a Lead Teacher. I oversaw my preschool classroom making sure things were running smoothly, and making sure the children and the teachers had what they needed or help with any issues that were going on. I also helped with other age groups within the Center. I left the CDC in July of 2016 because I'm in the process of opening my own Daycare, but as everything else, it takes time. My Passion for children started since I was a little girl. I was always attracted to be with babies and had the need to take care if their needs. My mom was an elementary school teacher in Mexico and I always said I wanted to work with kids like her. After taking some classes, I realized that my passion was working with little ones and teaching them the basics for what they will need to succeed in the future. The first five years of age are the most crucial in a child's life, and knowing that I can be there to help them in that process is the reason why I decided to work in this field.
