I am a college student with a very flexible schedule. I live in San Francisco and have my own car, so transportation is not a problem. I have many nieces and nephews in my family that I've watched over since they were born. I babysit them on many occasions when their parents needed a little down time. I also babysit my parents' co-workers' kids and our neighbors' kids when they need a helping hand. I have all my babysitting basics down from changing a diaper to pool rescue. I am currently working a few hours a week at a kid's retail store and find that it isn't remotely close to what I would like to do. Helping children, taking care of them and playing with them is a whole lot different than ringing up their supplies. I love looking after children and love to entertain them (board games, singing, dancing, Read more building puzzles, Legos, etc.), but I will always abide by parents' instructions first and foremost. I don't have experience outside-of-family-related babysitting (family friends included) and so my work history is limited. If you would give me a chance, I'm sure I can prove that you didn't chose the wrong person.
