My name is Sarah, I am 30 years old and engaged to be married! I am originally from Seattle, WA and moved to the Bay Area one year ago and am working with a not-for-profit organization that I'm very committed to, but unfortunately doesn't always pay the bills! I've always felt working with kids is very rewarding both because I love to teach and because I love to learn-- kids always find something new to teach you! I went to college in Seattle and achieved both my HS diploma and my AA degree with Honors. Throughout High School I volunteered as a Teacher's Aid in 4th Grade Classrooms, helped work with ESL students, and was assistant coach to a young boy's basketball team for the Boys & Girls Club for 2 years! I also volunteered at many carnival/assembly events for my old elementary school and met most of the kids Read more I sat for that way. I gained 3+ years of experience as a regular sitter for kids (boys and girls) ages 3-12 and am most comfortable caring for kids in that bracket, though am confident I could competently care for younger and older. I am a big believer in interactive care, am very patient and truly love to teach. Though I have no official certification in tutoring children, I am more than happy to help kids with homework, play educational games and even sports! Child education has always interested me, but I think developing their imaginations is just as vital! I love reading and story-telling, I have a background in classical music (vocal and piano), love to draw and do art projects, am conversational in Spanish, and generally enjoy the challenge of answering those, "Why?" questions! I hope to work with you and your kids soon!
