I love children and get a great deal of joy out of spending time with them. I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old, and I genuinely enjoy the chance to engage with children and become a surrogate part of different families. I completed CPR training many years ago, and will get re-certified in late November. I speak Spanish fluently and conversational Luganda, and I enjoy teaching children about other cultures. I have lived abroad for the past 8 years, during which time I was running a youth center out of home. Being back in the US, one of the things I miss most is the constant presence of children in my home and my life in general. I have training in non-violent communication, restorative justice, and peacebuilding, which often comes in handy when caring for children.
