Hello! My name is Ashley Arroyo, I am 27 years old and I have 8 years of childcare experience. I recently moved to Australia so I am not currently available for any jobs in the US. However, if you are traveling outside of the US and require a nanny/sitter to come along, I would be more than happy to join your family for the trip. Here is a little bit about me and my background and experience working with kids: I started babysitting and nannying through a US application called Sittercity in 2010. Since then, I have worked with lots of families on short-term, temporary and more regular basis. When I graduated from university in 2014, I continued babysitting in addition to my full-time work in San Francisco. I find interactions with children rather easy, probably because I like them so much. This year, I started teaching English as a Read more second language to children ages 5-14, with a company called VIPKid. I find working with kids extremely rewarding, and generally enjoy being in their company whether we are doing homework, making crafts, watching (kid appropriate) movies, playing outside, practicing sports or helping with homework, tutoring on various subjects or just hanging out. I have experience with Babies as young as a few months, all the way up to teenagers that just need a chaperone and lift around town. I have my own car and an 11-year clean driving record (US-based). I also have pet sitting and walking experience, if that is an additional need in your household. My babysitting style is fun, friendly and energetic without neglecting responsibility and a watchful eye. I want the kids to have fun, but I also want to make sure that they are behaved and well-mannered in a safe environment when their parents are not around. I think the best recommendation I can offer was provided by my children. They specifically requested Ashley again. When asked why, they told me that she was nice and fun. :) From my perspective, she was courteous, punctual and flexible when I needed to stay out significantly longer than I had originally planned. I was in a jam and needed a babysitter for two days when my day care was closed and I could not take off work. I went onto sittercity.com, posted a short notice job, and found Ashley. Quick on the response, smart, had experiance and had flexible availablity I was sold. Ashley was very professional, came and did her job and did it well. She had a hard job because my son is a very active 20 month old, and my husband was working from home. She did a great job of keeping my curious son away from the office, and keeping him moving and active all day. She took him out to play, engaged him books and toys, and spent time drawing with him (I even posted some of the lovely art on facebook). She kept him on schedule, cooked his lunch, and was a great helper. He was happy to be with her and happy at the end of the day. We are so glad to have found Ashley and hope to use her again in the future!
