I currently work full-time at a non-profit organization in San Jose called Parents Helping Parents. I am a Bilingual Family and Community Support Specialist and my job is to support, empower and help parents of children and adults with a variety of special needs. I have an older brother with Autism and Epilepsy and as such, have lifelong experience helping with his care. I have been an IHSS worker in the past and have experience working with an infant with Down Syndrome and a young adult with Autism, OCD, and ADHD. I have been caregiving since 2009 and I have been babysitting since 2005. I most recently cared for a family with two high energy kids--a 5 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. I have sat for children from ages 9 months to 16 years of age and I would say I have a particular fondness for Read more Elementary School-age children--I'm a kid at heart! I do not have any children myself or pets but I love children and animals--especially dogs! I can speak, read, write and understand Spanish fluently. My caregiving philosophy is to always be safe, stay active and have fun! I am a dancer and a musician so I love dancing, playing music, singing and doing any activity outdoors. I especially love make-believe and storytelling.
