I am very passionate about caring for children, going above and beyond in my quality of care. My many years of child care experiences include: -Over 9 years of experience providing childcare ages 1+, ranging from 1-3 children at a time. -A lifetime of special needs experience, including over 4 years of ABA training and behavioral respite. -Volunteer-teaching a group of 10+ children, ages ranged 3-12, in group piano lessons. -Coaching groups of 5+ little ones, aged 3-6, in summer tennis camps. -Flexibility with care environments, homes, languages (English / Spanish-speaking), and cultures. When I care for children, I love finding out their interests and incorporating productivity in a way that doesn't feel like work! I am an very passionate about reading (I've created ways to make reluctant readers enjoy their practice!), incorporating educational concepts (math, science, etc), engage in imaginative play, doing crafts, playing sports, and more! I've done Read more everything from homemade bubbles (science) to treasure hunts (reading) to rhythm games (counting)... and even silly dancing or sports and everything in-between. My responsibilities have included meals, housework, addressing tantrums / behaviors in a kind yet effective manner, homework help, and putting kids to bed. If you have a special needs child who needs extra care/respite, I'm the one to call. I have over 4 years of experience working behaviorally with children with autism (my experience ranges widely on the spectrum), Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, etc., as well as a lifetime of experience with autism in my family. I have utilized my own hobbies - music, sports, exercise, reading, and more - in order to find out what engages each of these unique and wonderful children.
