I am currently a 21-year-old senior at Westmont College. Studying at a liberal arts college has allowed me to become well-rounded educationally and a sharp, critical thinker with a high does of common sense. I love children of all ages, which is why half of my current experience has been volunteer-based and the other half paid. I have been babysitting for seven years now and I have watched children of all ages ranging from 6 months to 15 years old. When I babysit I try to encourage non-technologic stimulation: things like baking, making crafts, playing games, reading books, going to the park, going on walks, or being active in any way. A little bit about my experience: over the summer of 2012, I taught an art class for children ages 4 and 5. For the past year I have worked at an elementary school in Santa Barbara as a reading tutor for second graders. Recently I finished a year long position as the Childcare Coordinator for a program called CADA in Carpenteria where I oversaw children's activities while their parents attended meetings. These children's ages ranged from 6 months to 15 years old, and occasionally I would attend to (up to) 8 kids at a time!
