Availability: Monday-Saturday, Mornings 8am-12pm, Evenings 7pm-10pm. Email: jaceeloves@aol.com I am currently an extended hours teacher in Palo Alto from 1:30-6PM. My schedule is very flexible in the mornings and evenings. I have been babysitting on and off since I was in High School, I also was a volunteer at my high school's day care center-- During my Senior year of High School 2010-2011 I was privileged with the opportunity to be able to volunteer at Independence High School's Child Care program, where I helped cared for infants and toddlers for an hour each day. Since 2009 I've been involved in my church's Children's ministry where I helped with the Kindergarten Class, We would teach them bible stories, sing songs, give snacks and play games. Every Summer I worked at a Day Care Center for infants to toddlers. I have worked in a Day Care during the Summer time from the Read more years 2008-2010 and would quit every time school would resume in the fall. While I was there, I was able to handle 3 infants their ages varied from 0-12 mos. Every now and then I would handle 4-7 year old children too. I then got certified to be a caregiver for the elderly and worked with 6 patients from May-August 2012. I love working with children and being around them--there is never a dull moment. I am patient with children, and try to understand them as much as possible when they are having problems. I can cook and prepare snacks and meals as well as clean and do some light organizing. My strengths in working with children is that I am patient and caring around them. I try to be compassionate and understanding in times that a child is having a difficulty expressing himself. I interact with children, such as communicate with them, read, play and be able to give clear instructions that the children would easily understand and do. I have a good sense of humor, I can be silly with the children and interact well with them. It's important that I always stay alert whenever I work with children, many things could happen in a blink of an eye. But when I have my full attention and awareness with my surroundings and the children around, it is easier to prevent things from going wrong. I always keep a head count of the children and make sure that they stay within my sight.
