Hello folks! My name is Montana and I am looking for child care work. I have had many small jobs in the past and have found that sitting is my calling and my absolute favorite thing to do! Growing up without a mother in my life and being the oldest of three siblings, I took on the mother role in my household and fell in love with creating nurturing spaces for children to learn and grow in. I’ve taken on many opportunities that have helped me to develop skills that would benefit me with this field of care work. Along with the numerous sitting opportunities I’ve been given, I’ve also worked as a behavioral specialist- working with children who have behavioral difficulties. I’ve also been a tutor for very young children through high school level young adults. I currently volunteer part time at a homework club where we plan activities Read more for children, help with tutoring, and teach valuable and useful life skills. I am certified in adult and pediatric CPR and first aid and have maintained this certification for the last 6 years. Being a college student, I’ve had opportunities to take multiple education classes, psychology classes, and child development courses at both UCSC and Cabrillo College. This has given me a well-rounded background to provide the best care that I can give. I love the curious, creative and exciting minds of children and their ability to adapt, learn, and grow so quickly with such enthusiasm- that’s why I am seeking out positions where I can witness this all while providing guidance and safe spaces for interests and development.
