I am one of 5 children and grew up in Kentucky. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 3 1/2 years, I was accepted into the United States Peace Corps. Fluent in Swahili, I was stationed for 26 months in Kenya, where I worked with families in remote, rural villages and taught in the local village schools, from the nursery to high school levels. Before my Peace Corps service, I completed the Safe Sitter Inc. course and was a child caretaker for families in my hometown, as well as supervised a nursery (infant to toddler) of up to 10 children. Since returning from Kenya, I have been a child caretaker for families in Miami, Florida and Los Angeles, California.
