My name is Kaitlyn Ireland, I am originally from Turlock, Ca and am the oldest to a young sister (age 22) and brother (age 18). I live by myself in Seal Beach with my toy black poodle, Quinn. In my spare time I enjoy watching and playing sports, going to music concerts, traveling, and eating good quality food. My background includes receiving my BA in Communication Studies at CSU Stanislaus, while playing women’s tennis for the University. Throughout my undergrad I worked as a hostess, tennis coordinator, and in human resources at a local insurance agency. I also volunteered for many organizations, worked in school clubs, churches, and was active in the local community. During this time I babysat on the side for local families as well. Currently I am a Communication Studies Master student at CSU Long Beach, on track to graduate in May this Spring 2017. Throughout the Read more past three semester I have served as a teaching assistant (TA) and graduate assistant (GA). Serving out my GA and TA position I attended weekly meetings with other faculty, grade assignments, and coordinate schedules. My duties as a TA included teaching my own interpersonal and public speaking classes. As a teacher I have worked with a large diverse student pool. This includes accommodating for students with disabilities such as blindness, hearing deficits, and ADHD. I have also had students will high language ascents and English as a second language, creating a learning challenge. Additionally, I have had to guide and mentor my students through depression, suicide thoughts and temptations, deaths of loved ones, and many other personal struggles. I have also worked with disabled children and adults volunteering for over eight years for the Handicap Skiing for Society Program. This program allows people with disabilities including various levels of autism to enjoy the chance to ski. My time volunteering here has allowed me to strengthen my communication skills with disabled individuals. I have logged many hours babysitting for families and friends since I was in high school. Though I do not possess a great deal of experience working with young children professionally, I believe the other experiences I have to offer you and your family will make me great fit for this position. I am confident that I can offer you the qualifications you are seeking. Please, feel free to call me at 209-485-4791 (cell) to arrange an interview. Thank you for your time.
