Hi, my name is Cherish. I am a former Children's ESL and Preschool teacher from Japan. Last September, I moved to LA from Japan. While in Japan I had more than 4 years of experience teaching and caring for young children. For about 3 years I worked at an English Conversation School for children, teaching English to children ages 0-14 through songs, games, reading, writing and arts and crafts. This is where I really began to see that I have a gift with children as children with learning disabilities or children who were shy, very energetic or had difficulty focusing were able to make progress in their studies and speaking abilities with my help. For about a year and a half I was the head teacher of a Preschool Class at an International Day Care/English School caring for 14-18 children at once from 10-5 full time. Our day would consist Read more of story time, singing and dancing, art, reading and writing, play, outdoor play and spots, nap time, snack and meal time, etc. This is where I realized that I had a gift for story telling, helping children enjoy learning and for carrying multiple small children at once without dropping anyone! This is also where I learned how to set boundaries with children so as to keep everything running smooth, safe and under control. Some of the reasons why I am the right baby sitter for YOUR CHILDREN ;) 1. I am responsible and honest, very hard working, punctual and diligent, have a great sense of humor and love to teach and play and keep things fun as well as help children grow and learn during play . 2. I have a huge amount of understanding and patience with children and know how to set boundaries and "draw the line" without becoming upset or angry. 3. Most children love me as a teacher/caregiver almost to the point of obsession. 4. Children who parents or fellow caretakers consider "difficult", I have been able "handle" and usually end up making a very positive connection with them. 5. I want to make a great impact of the lives of the children I come in contact with and make their parents happy they chose me as their sitter.
