I have eight years of experience working with children as both a Teacher's Aide and as a Nanny. I speak fluent English and Portuguese. I am CPR certified and also have received some Montessori training. I am a Yoga teacher with special training to teach Hatha Yoga to Children. As a Teacher’s Aide, I have worked in multi-cultural and multi-lingual environments, with children of all ages, as well as children with special needs. My last position was at an International Baccalaureate School in Brazil. I will be attending Citrus College starting Fall 2015. I will be working towards completing my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development. I am looking for a good family for which I may provide my services. My typical day as a Nanny would usually go as follows: Morning: Arrival/ Check-in with parents any updates or information about the child. Breakfast time and basic clean-up and diaper Read more change. Daily activities are scheduled around the child's routine such as meals (snacks, lunch, dinner), naps, and bath time. If the age range is above one year and a half, I work with creative arts and fine motor activities to promote learning. I use music and yoga for body movement expression and development. (I have completed two yoga instructor courses, as well as one more specifically aimed at teaching yoga to children!) Playtime: (according to age range) Most of the days, playtime is either around the house, backyard or at a park near the house. Then there is Book time: I usually have a book hour where we explore the imagination by reading stories. Meals: I prepare meals according to parents' request, I really try to promote healthy eating. Diaper change: It varies, normally every two hours Potty train: I am very comfortable with potty-training children. Housework: I assist with light errands such as child laundry, light cooking, dishes and dog walks, etc.
