Hello families! My name is Sarina Brown and I am originally from a small town in this area called Sutter Creek! I have just recently moved back to the Sacramento area after graduating from Arizona State University in early December. I earned my degree in English Lit with a minor in Religious Studies, where eventually I would like to go back to school to earn my Teaching Credential in Special Education. I currently work for a company called Learning Solutions which is based in downtown Sacramento as an ABA Therapist. My role here is to help aid children on the Autism spectrum in the classroom. I am with them for the entire school day helping out with in class activities. I have a fingerprint clearance card through the state of California, and I am certified to be in a classroom as a teacher's assistant. I love being around kids, and Read more watching them grow and learn new skills everyday. I am looking for after school care, and weekend care as of right now. My hours for after school care are pretty flexible, and I can go into the late evenings! In my personal life, I live a very healthy and active life. I enjoy reading and writing, the arts and traveling locally enjoying new places to eat. I am also big in the yoga community, and truly love any volunteer work. Well I should have known better than to hire this girl when she flaked on the phone interview we scheduled. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she said Learning Solutions (her regular employer) called her into a meeting last minute and she wasn't able to use her phone to let me know. Mmmk. She did call me after the meeting and left a voicemail saying she was really sorry. We rescheduled for the next day and I liked her over the phone so I hired her. We scheduled Sarina to watch our son on a Sunday while my husband and I went to an appointment. The Friday before the Sunday we initially set up I texted Sarina to see if she could watch our son that Saturday as well so that my husband and I could go out on a date for his birthday. Sarina said "perfect!" and said she would be available all day long. She was supposed to show up at 4:30 on Saturday afternoon so that she could meet our son and we would leave at about 5:00. 4:30 rolled around and there was no text or phone call and no Sarina. At about 4:45 I ended up calling her and her phone went immediately to voice mail. She just never showed up and never texted or called to even apologize. Do not hire this girl. She is obviously young and irresponsible and, frankly disrespectful. I hope a babysitter flakes on her when she's 35 and doesn't get to go on dates with her husband very often. Ha!

We enjoyed meeting Sarina and hired her over several others we interviewed. We agreed upon a schedule and she even confirmed the night before. Unfortunately, she was a no-show the first day and was unresponsive, leaving me in quite a lurch for my work day.
