I believe that a babysitters role is to engage with children through active play and learning. I provide a safe and loving environment for young children to learn and develop. My caring and loving approach is a quality of mine that works perfect for all children. I consider myself very organized and will do my best to adhere to your personal parenting style. I find working with children to come very natural to me as well as being extremely rewarding. I have over 12 years of babysitting experience. In addition to local families, I began sitting for a young boy with Down Syndrome when I was 12. Along with his mother, I worked to prepare him for mainstream schooling, to which he just graduated 12th grade! As his primary babysitter, I was responsible for tutoring, general love and care, food preparation and the organization of playdates with other children who Read more had Down Syndrome. While obtaining my Bachelors degree at Ithaca College, I was an after-school counselor for 50+ school-aged children. In this role, I was responsible for the supervision and entertainment of kids ranging from ages 5-13. I have experience in arts and crafts, cooking lessons, and indoor and outdoor play. I started a running club and organized the participation of 15 students in 2 local road races. I am currently a professional private yoga teacher and nutrition expert, seeking additional time babysitting and connecting with families. I also offer family-centered yoga if interested. I am willing to help out around the household in all facets including cooking and light housekeeping.
