Although I may not have professional caring experience, I know I am able to meet or possibly exceed expectations and requirements. My drive to go the extra mile to help someone before helping myself, and my passion, allows me to properly care for people in a way that I feel no one else can. I consider myself unique, in the sense that I do not work to benefit myself, but to help everyone else around me. I do the things I do, because I know that if I were in the same position, I would want to be treated with such care, kindness, respect, generosity, and love. I do not treat clients as clients, but as friends, and potential family, as I know some people may not have either. I love to take care of people! Through working with Dr. Metzenberg, my job entails me to go above and beyond other typical assistant positions due to her disabilities, and being quadriplegic. What is required from me are to be her eyes, hands, voice, and legs. I assist her with daily activities, such as the following: 1. Read, compose, and send emails 2. Draft and edit theses and letters of recommendation 3. Feed, stretch, and make her look presentable 4. Assist in grading and formatting Biology course material I also help with other duties and responsibilities, such as taking care of her autistic son, driving and going out on day trips and adventures, taking her to appointments, cooking for her, cleaning and organizing her home, etc. Alongside of caring for people, I am very versatile, as my organizational skills along with my patience, allows me to adapt to ever-changing environments efficiently. My interest in the position will guide me towards my future career, in being able to work with children, and build valuable and long lasting relationships with clients, families, coworkers, and bosses.
